Dr. Annabel Dias Barrocas Fernandes

Dr. Annabel Dias Barrocas Fernandes is a distinguished researcher at the FibEnTech Research Unit, University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and has a strong background in environmental electrochemistry, with a focus on the development of sustainable technologies for wastewater treatment and pollutant removal. Her research spans electrochemical and bioelectrochemical processes aimed at advancing innovative and environmentally responsible solutions to critical water quality challenges. Dr. Fernandes has contributed to several national and international research projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and publishing in reputable scientific journals. Her work is recognized for integrating fundamental science with practical applications that support the transition to circular and resilient environmental systems.

Annabel Fernandes

Dr. Sivasankar Venkataraman

Nagasaki University, Japan

Dr. Sivasankar Venkataraman is currently a Research Faculty in the Department of Integrated Science and Technology at Nagasaki University, Japan since 2024. He was a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow in 2016 and has over 20 years of academic experience in teaching and research. His research focuses on wastewater treatment using functional and modified carbon materials, micro-plastics abatement, soil microbial fuel cells (MFCs), and phyco-remediation. He serves as an Editorial Board Member for journals including Scientific Reports, Discover Sustainability, and Discover Chemical Engineering.
