
Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering (FGMGP) is one of the eight (08) faculties of the Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology (USTHB). It was established by presidential decree on September 18, 2001.
It trains executives in a wide range of industrial fields, as well as researchers in diverse structures such as universities, research centers, forensic science units, and research laboratories within large companies.
It hosts two programs:
- Process Engineering, covering all industrial processes such as food engineering, environmental engineering and protection, pharmaceutical engineering, sustainable development, chemical engineering, cryogenics, refining engineering, petrochemicals, and water management.
- Mechanical Engineering, focusing on mechanical construction, industrial maintenance, mechanical manufacturing, welding engineering, energy engineering, energy installations and turbomachinery, HVAC and refrigeration engineering, renewable energies, materials engineering, materials testing and inspection, as well as materials manufacturing processes.
The Dean is responsible for the operation of the faculty and oversees the management of its human, financial, and material resources.
In this capacity, he:
- authorizes the operating budget allocated to him/her by the Rector,
- appoints faculty staff for whom no other appointment procedure is provided,
- ensures and exercises hierarchical authority over all personnel under his/her supervision,
- prepares the meetings of the Faculty Council.
